With the experience of 30 years, Ellen’s expressive playing has enhanced ceremonies, whether on the classical or Celtic harp.
Her attention to the musical flow of the service adds smooth edges and gentle ambiance.
Typically, in place an hour before the ceremony, a prelude sets the tone.
Procession and recession music is selected with care under her expert guidance.
During receptions, she plays an eclectic mix of classical, popular, standards, renaissance, Baroque and traditional Irish harp music.
There is always something recognizable. Even when amplified, it is never intrusive, providing a music backdrop.
Ellen also plays with duos and trios, with singers, in an 18th century or traditional Irish idiom.
Hiring Ellen is probably the easiest part of planning for your “blessed event”.

“I was enthralled by Ellen’s performance at my wedding in November. She played with two colleagues–a fiddler and a flute player…together, their music was entrancing. I have a Ph.D. in Folk Culture and I can tell you that Ellen’s traditional musical sound is altogether authentic and representative of the very best in Celtic harping. (That said, her classical pieces were perfectly lovely too.)
Let me also say that I was amazed by Ellen’s responsiveness and professionalism. To illustrate: two or three days before my wedding date, I decided I really wanted a pretty obscure Irish air [Moran’s Return] for the processional… I sent a recording of the piece to Ellen (to whom it was also unfamiliar) and — abra-ca-dabra — it was played flawlessly, just as I had dreamed.”
